Hi there, I'm David
Some of my favorite things are my cats, friends around a bonfire, and being fit enough to tackle anything that piques my interest.
So you want to know who I work with. Are you:
-
Looking to build strength and mobility to excel in a sport?
-
Wanting to reduce pain while increasing balance and coordination to improve time with your children/grandchildren?
-
Edging closer to getting more active, maybe picking up a recreational sport after years at a desk job?
-
Looking to prepare to cage fight mountain lions? Well… I won’t be much use to you there. But I think you get the idea by now.
In my 14 years in the fitness industry, I’ve worked with pretty much every group you can think of: teenage athletes to professional athletes, the everyday working professional juggling Zoom calls with getting kids to martial arts and band, as well as folks looking to move better and improve their quality of life.
All these folks are looking to feel better, improve their mind-body connection, and transform how they control and utilize their body. And I'll wager I can help you, too.
Training Options
1:1 Personal Training
Say you’re not a fan of groups, maybe have a few injury concerns, or even have specific goals that you’d really like to focus on. Then 1-on-1 attention is right for you. Let’s hang out and bond over Ted Lasso, silly things cats do, or banter about a wide array of varied interests. You think that rocks?? Me too! Let’s do it.
Partner Training
I see you’re not alone! You’ve got a friend or family member that you’d love to become more awesome with. Partners in crime have the best time, I say. So let’s get down and do this. Both of you have similar fitness experience and goals, can move fairly well with no major injury/health limitations, and enjoy one another’s company (most of the time).
Small Group Training
Ahh, you’re either the life of the party or enjoy the camaraderie of a group setting. Well team work makes the dream work amigos, so let’s gather no more than 6 of us and have some fun. Let’s keep in mind that having a similar aim is what is going to bring us all success: weight loss, sport specific training, groups of friends with similar fitness levels. This is best suited for those that have a history of being physically active, experience in the weight room, and are clear of major injuries/health concerns that would require a closer eye to execution.
Our Training Philosophy
Maybe you’re wondering why you should care about how to control your body, or how improved mind-body connection will make your life exponentially better. In short, I’d like to save you from the lessons I learned the hard way from my high school and collegiate athletic careers.
Like many kids growing up in the 90s, I just went out and did sports. Heck, I didn’t even start lifting weights until my freshman year of college. Even then, I just moved stuff around with little attention to detail, just going through the motions.
After an All-American campaign as a freshman, in my next 3 years of college track I spent more time in the Athletic Training room than most of the training staff. I realized if I wanted a healthy body going forward, I had to learn how to use my body as an asset and not like my first Jeep that I drove until it fell apart (not reckless, just wasn’t keen on routine maintenance).
This requires intention on how we move and lift objects. It demands that we are present as we challenge our limitations around mobility, work capacity, and athletic skill. Once you feel the difference, you’ll change the game. And everyone you know will see the difference, too.
